Frequently asked questions
Common questions
How much does the program cost?
Nothing. It is completely free to participate in.
Is there really a $500 stipend?
Yes. Attend five of the six events and complete the capstone, and you receive $500. The capstone is three things: connect with all of the executives on LinkedIn, be paired with your own personal executive mentor, and write a paper on one executive and how Jewish values have helped them succeed.
What is the time commitment?
Six gatherings across the semester, and you attend any five of them: two Sunday afternoons, two Tuesday evenings, and two Shabbaton weekends.
Where and when do events happen?
New York City and the Five Towns for the Sunday afternoons, two Shabbaton weekends in Passaic, and Tuesday evenings at venues still being confirmed. Fall 2026 runs 11 October to 1 December. Participants attend five of the six.
Who is eligible?
Students in the New York area, especially NYU, Hunter, Baruch, FIT, The New School, Parsons, and John Jay. We occasionally welcome young professionals too.
What actually happens at the events?
Real conversations: shared meals, executives telling their honest career stories, small-group Q&A, and one-on-one introductions. Not a career fair.
What is a Shabbaton, and do I need to be religious?
A warm, immersive Shabbat weekend hosted in a welcoming community. No background or level of observance required. Come as you are.
How many students are accepted?
20 per semester, so the group stays close-knit and every student gets real access to the executives.
